My research interests are in the areas of labor economics, economics of education, and applied microeconomics. I am particularly interested in human capital investment during adolescence, including educational and occupational choices. My recent papers investigate how teacher expectations, college quality, and parental income (including maternal labor supply decisions) affect college completion rates. I also work on evaluating the effect of welfare systems.

I am an Assistant Professor in the School of Economics at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. I completed my PhD in Economics at Johns Hopkins University. I earned Master's degree in Statistics at Columbia University in the City of New York and Bachelor's degree in Economics and Statistics at the University of Chicago.
